Life’s journey can be a remarkable adventure, but it’s not without its challenges. At times, we may need support, guidance, or simply a friendly shoulder to lean on. This is where the power of community comes into play. In this blog post, we’ll explore 6 of the many incredible benefits of being part of a community and how it can be your source of strength and a safe haven during challenging times.

According to the CDC, Social connectedness influences our minds, bodies, and behaviors—all of which influence our health and life expectancy. Research shows that social connectedness can lead to longer life, better health, and improved well-being.

They also report that when you feel like you belong and have the support and care you need, as well as the number, quality, and diversity of relationships you want—this is what’s known as social connectedness. People with meaningful social connections have:

Below are six more reasons why being involved in a community can benefit your health. 

  1. Emotional Support: Life’s ups and downs can be emotionally taxing, but having a community can provide a solid foundation of emotional support. When you’re feeling overwhelmed, there are people who genuinely care about your well-being and are ready to offer a listening ear and comforting words.

    “Wendy” (due to protecting the individuals inside my community, I’ll use different names to share stories about the incredible results these amazing women are getting!) was navigating anxiety and depression ever since the death of a close family member.  

    It was so powerful for her to be able to show up however she felt, be supported, and learn how to use nutrition to naturally support the anxiety and depression she was experiencing.  She started noticing shifts after only a few weeks.  Wendy is no longer overwhelmed by her depression and anxiety.  When she starts to feel it, she knows exactly how to bring her body back into balance.  Having the ability to directly reach out to the community made all the difference.
